NatureZedge Insect & Bee Hotel

Throw open the door, and invite all the beneficial insects to rest, relax, and make your garden their home. Pollinators, like ladybugs, native bees, and lacewings love these hotels. They use the specially-designed holes to raise their young, hide from predators, and unwind after a long day of eating aphids.

After we installed these insect and bee hotels, the garden hummed with the sounds of happy pollinators. And, our hearts hummed with joy as we anticipated abundant harvests of cucumbers, broccoli, and tomatoes. No more watching our hard work go down the drain as aphids and mites gorged on our vegetable plants. No more wondering if we needed to use chemicals to combat those garden pests. With a safe place to call home, the ladybugs, lacewings, and mason bees stayed and protected the garden better than any method we’ve ever used.

We love watching the mason bees happily buzz from flower to flower, showing off their pollinating prowess. Their presence guarantees us large crops of vegetables. In combination with these hotels, as an extra incentive to them to stay, we planted a bunch of flowers that we knew the pollinators would like. It worked like a charm! Happy pollinators create happy gardens.

PREMIUM MATERIALS: Made of Cunninghamia wood, which is in the cypress family; it is known for its natural fungus and rot resistance. It is also a very close cousin of western red cedar and known for its durability, so our bat shelter will last.

SUPERCHARGE YOUR GARDEN: This Insect & Bee Hotel is designed to attract solitary bees such as mason and carpenter bees, not honey bees. Bee and Insect houses allow you to attract the perfect pollinators, giving you more fruit, vegetables, and flowers.

SHELTER FOR LADYBUGS: By giving ladybugs and lacewings a place to call home, a great benefit is given to your garden. They are natural predators to aphids, which can quickly destroy your garden.

PERFECT SIZE: Our Insect & Bee Hotels are built to be installed easily. They are small and un-intrusive, measuring 11″x 7.25″x 3.75″.

NatureZedge NatureZedge Insect & Bee Hotel – SUPERCHARGE your garden!!

Why use an Insect & Bee Hotel?

Mason bees are a solitary bee that is non-aggressive. One mason bee pollinates the same as several hundred honeybees. Mason bees stay within a few hundred yards of their hive, while honeybees will often travel miles. This means mason bees will focus on YOUR yard and not the orchard two miles down the road. Another huge benefit is that mason bees become active in the spring several weeks earlier than honey bees, which means you get a head start on your garden!

Attract Beneficial Insects

By providing shelter to beneficial insects with an Insect Hotel, you’ll be increasing the populations of ladybugs and lacewings. These bugs provide a natural way of removing unwanted pests such as aphids. If left uncontrolled, aphids can destroy months of hard work in a matter of days.

These houses are designed to last for two seasons

Physically, these bee and insect houses will last a long time. However, bee houses are susceptible to parasites that are detrimental to the bee population if they are used for more than two years. This is the case with almost any human-made bee house.

We highly recommend buying new bee houses every two years so they will always have a safe, healthy place to nest. Once the mason bees move to your yard, they will seek out shelter in the same area year after year. The bee houses attract them initially, then the plentiful food and welcoming space encourage them to stay.
