We can’t stop marveling at the talents of the “simple” Marigold. This beautiful, cheery flower also works double-time to ward off pesky creatures, like slugs and cabbage moths. But it doesn’t stop there. Marigolds attract bees and butterflies with their brilliant colors and long-lasting blooms. More pollinators, please! Ladybugs, lacewings, and hoverflies also love marigolds, and they love eating the pesty aphids that are trying to destroy your vegetables. That’s a huge garden bonus. We won’t ever call this flower simple again; exceptional is a better descriptor for the radiant marigold.

Our marigold seed mix blends the alluring Dainty Marietta French, Petite French, and Sparky French varieties. They range in height from 6-18-inches. Plant these seeds in full sun anywhere in your garden or yard. Add some spark to your garden with these vibrant yellow and orange marigold flowers.

GET MORE FOR YOUR MONEY: This beautiful mix combines three types of marigold flower seeds. Eight grams of seeds totaling 5600 seeds!

ANNUAL SEEDS: This Marigold Seed Mix is an annual mix suitable for many climate zones. They grow wonderfully in containers and make excellent deck or porch flowers. Heat and drought tolerant.

DETER PESTS: Marigolds are the perfect companion for your vegetables because they deter pests. They are just as effective a repellent for a mosquito as citronella.

How do I plant the seeds?

Direct sow in spring, planting just below the surface of the soil. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination. Marigolds can also be started indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost of spring; these seeds germinate best in high humidity and temperatures around 70 degrees F. Germination usually occurs within 5-10 days.

Water seedlings occasionally until they become established; mature plants tolerate some drought, though watering them in especially dry weather will increase their bloom. Pinch back the growing stems to encourage bushiness. Deadheading will cause continued blooming. This plant attracts bees and butterflies and will self-seed in good growing conditions. It makes an excellent choice for a border plant or for growing in containers.
